Non-Absorbable Surgical Suture (PTFE)
Polytef Plus is polyester, non-absorbable, braided, sterile surgical suture made from ethylene terephthalate. This suture is obtained from long-chained, linear polyester with high molecular weight. Polytef surgical sutures are coated homogenously with tetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) polymer.
Non-absorbable coating acts as lubricant. By providing easy application on tissue and ease-of-use, this suture improves physical properties of uncoated braided suture. Intense PTFE coating and thick braids enables minimum friction and removes dead zones. Polytef sutures are well-braided and coloured with green colouring agent for higher visibility. Polytef sutures comply with all requirements of American Pharmacopeia (U.S.P) and European Pharmacopeia for non-absorbable surgical sutures.
Polytef sutures are used in general soft tissue coating and bonding of cardiovascular, ophthalmic, or neuro surgical applications.
Polytef sutures are manufactured with or without stainless steel needle, between USP 7/0 – USP 0 range, and with various lengths between 55cm to 150cm.
