Natural Silk
Natural Silk – Non-Absorbable Oculoplasty and Orbital surgery suture is a sterile and non-absorbent surgical sewing material made from a natural protein polymer called fibroin. This natural silk thread, derived from the domesticated Bombyx mori (B. mori) species of silkworm, is processed by removing natural impurities such as wax and glue. USP is available in braided form with thicknesses of 7/0 and above, and in twisted or braided form with USP 7/0 and 8/0 sizes. Natural silk yarns painted with Black Hematein HCK (C.I. No. 75290) or produced with the natural color of ivory (ivory) are coated with paraffin wax (wax) or silicone, improving surgical performance. Silk, which is preferred in oculoplasty and orbital surgeries with excellent knot grip and texture compatibility, is a classic and reliable suture alternative.
