Fastlak – Fast Absorbable Brain and Neurosurgery Suture is a flexible, synthetic, fast absorbable, and sterile surgical suture with a copolymer structure synthesized from 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. This multifilament suture, with an empirical formula of (C₂H₂O₂)ₘ(C₃H₄O₂)ₙ, is produced by knitting fibers and is developed with a low molecular weight PGL form that enables rapid hydrolysis and absorption. Used in brain and neurosurgery, Fastlak offers secure attachment in soft tissues, high knot security, and minimal tissue reaction. The coating material is composed of a proprietary blend of calcium stearate, 30% glycolide, and 70% lactide, ensuring a controlled absorption process without damaging the tissue.

Fastlak sutures are manufactured in specialized sizes and specifications for neurosurgery.
