Glikosorb – Absorbable Brain and Neurosurgery Suture is a synthetic, braided, absorbable, and sterile surgical suture made from polyglycolic acid (PGA). Specifically designed for the high-precision nature of neurosurgery, Glikosorb penetrates the tissue with minimal trauma, providing a safe and stable suture. Its braided structure provides superior knot security, while a special coating formula—a blend of calcium stearate and polycaprolactone—enhances lubrication in the surgical field, ensuring easy passage and controlled absorption. Dyed purple with natural colorants, Glikosorb provides clear visibility in the operating field and simplifies surgical procedures.
Manufactured in specialized sizes and specifications for neurosurgery, the Glikosorb suture series is available in various thicknesses from USP 8/0 to USP 6, in lengths from 10 cm to 150 cm, and with or without a stainless steel needle. With a 60–90 day absorption period, this absorbable suture, preferred in neurosurgery, exhibits minimal tissue reaction during the healing process thanks to its biocompatible structure.
