Fastsorb – Fast Absorbable Brain and Neurosurgery Suture is a synthetic, sterile, and rapidly absorbable polyglycolic acid (PGA) surgical suture derived from the homopolymer of glycolic acid. Fastsorb, whose polymer chain undergoes controlled degradation by gamma rays, is naturally beige in color and undyed, offering biocompatibility and safe use in tissue. Its special coating, a blend of calcium stearate and polycaprolactone, enhances the suture’s lubrication, ensuring smooth passage in the surgical field and minimizing tissue trauma. Fastsorb, with its antigenic and non-pyrogenic structure, is preferred for general soft tissue repairs surrounding nerve tissue; however, it is not used directly on neural, cardiac, or vascular tissues.

Fastsorb sutures, manufactured in specialized sizes and specifications for neurosurgery, are available in USP 8/0 to USP 6 grades, in lengths from 45 cm to 150 cm, and feature stainless steel needles. Offered for single use and with a six-week absorption period, this absorbable surgical suture is an ideal solution for indirect soft tissue repair in neurosurgery. Offering reliable performance, minimal tissue reaction, and ease of use during surgical procedures, Fastsorb, with the Boz guarantee, provides the quality and safety required by specialists.
