POLIDIOX
Polydioxanone (PDO)
Polidiox – Absorbable Brain and Neurosurgical Suture is a polydioxanone (poly(p-dioxanone))-based synthetic surgical suture with a monofilament structure. Due to its absorbable properties, Polidiox is completely absorbed by the body over time, making it particularly preferred in surgical areas where long-term wound support is required. Its purple-colored structure enhances visibility within the surgical field, while its tissue-compatible, nonantigenic, and nonpyrogenic structure ensures safe use.
Polidiox sutures, manufactured in specialized sizes and specifications for neurosurgery, are available in thicknesses ranging from USP 7/0 to USP 2, in lengths from 45 cm to 150 cm, and with stainless steel needles. This suture, which offers an ideal solution for procedures requiring high tissue sensitivity in neurosurgery, can be successfully used in specialized applications such as pediatric neurosurgery, as well as microsurgery and adult cardiovascular tissue. Polidiox, dyed purple with natural dyes, is specifically designed to provide long-term support for absorbable suture requirements.
